We opened in time for August bank holiday 2021, after a 6 month build full of lows and highs, to a campsite of 15 pitches and outstanding reviews. This weekend, we celebrate the Jubilee bank holiday weekend with 26 pitches taken, which we share with strangers who have followed our story from the start.
It’s always so heart warming when a guest has watched all the you tube videos or has followed us on Facebook for ages and has finally found the opportunity to camp on our site. “You’ve created something really beautiful here….” is a comment we get a lot. Years ago, I dreamed of my ‘field of dreams’ as it was named – where unique stays and family camping brought people together. Not everyone has a tent or a caravan and some people just like a mattress and a heater.
One of the greatest joys of running the site the past 9 months has been watching families and friends reunite after the pandemic. One in a tent, another in a Log Pod – bbq’s and firepits watching the sunset and playing football or badminton on the field. I feel the site has now fulfilled it gestation period and has been born.
The flowers are in full bloom and the colours and textures are beautiful. The bees and other pollinators are out in plenty and children pick some of the flowers to give to family members or to decorate their pitch – they give so much pleasure to us all.
It’s now time to nurture, to develop the wild areas for nature and to sit back and enjoy it all a bit. Last night we watched the beacons being lit on Malvern and Bredon Hill. Fireworks on Bredon and over Pershore way went off and we all felt so lucky to have such an open aspect to look out on. The red arrows came over and balloons floated past. We built it….and they came – maybe that ‘field of dreams’ wasn’t such a dream after all……
